E-mu Vintage Pro Demo: “Mica’s Dream”

Here’s a little demo from the E-mu Vintage Pro synth module. It features Tyrone Fleming on the electronic drums and John DePatie playing the opening line and solo from a guitar synth. I remember using a lot of control changes throughout the track so all the filter sweeps and panning information is “played” in realtime. The intro part wasn’t played to any kind of click and the arpeggiated synth part just happened to work out.

The name came from a phone conversation I had with my lady friend (now wife) about a dream she had. I’m not sure she dreamed about Joe Zawinul but some secrets are best left untold.
